Purpose of meeting:
Comprehensive Plan 5 year update work

Intent of meeting

  1. Acquire information to the Planning Committee and the public
  2. Solicit input from public

- Address specific properties with owners to collaborate on planning
- Allow Comp. Plan update to distinguish multiple possibilities

Attendees:

B.J. DeCoursey – Institute for Public Administration (Consultant firm for Comprehensive
Plan Update)
Linda Raab - Institute for Public Administration, (also Primary Consultant for Ordinance
Rewrite)
Ryan Gillespie - Institute for Public Administration
Lee Ann Walling – DNREC, Planning Section
Mark Biddle – DNREC, Water Resources
Dave Edgehill – State Planning, Kent County

Agenda:
Presented Comprehensive Plan Goals
Address inclusion of Walkable Town review
State Planning Economic area, used as priority plan for appropriation of monies
Review County Growth Zone and how Wyoming sits within
Overview of adjoining towns’ boundaries and comprehensive planning
Review Wetlands and low lying areas for planning
Three key property owners in attendance for future planning:
Wyoming Mill (commercial) and properties to west
Pioneer Corp., old Wyoming Block (industrial)
Old 3 B’s building and property (commercial)
Discussion of ideas with property owners
Basically, all property owners are amenable to any plans with collaboration
Much historic information obtain from property owners
Many questions addressed by experts, able to direct owners to agencies for
assistance in developing properties to mutual advantage
Discussion on annexation of properties         

Summary:
Information from all parties provided collaborative view of planning and direction for addressing the comprehensive plan update.
